Terrorist: A Novel
John Updike has written a brilliant novel that ranks among the most provocative of his distinguished career. Terrorist is the story of Ahmad Ashmawy Mulloy, an alienated American-born teenager who spurns the materialistic, hedonistic life he witnesses in the slumping New Jersey factory town he calls home. Turning to the words of the Holy Qur’an as expounded to him by the pedantic imam of a local mosque, Ahmad devotes himself fervently to God. Neither the world-weary guidance counselor at his high school nor Ahmad’s mischievously seductive classmate Joryleen succeeds in deflecting him from his course, as the threads of an insidious plot gather around him.
“One compelling and surprising ride.”–USA Today
“The startlingly contemporary story of a high school student . . . whose zealous Islamic faith and disaffection with modern life make him a pawn in the larger conflict between Muslim and Christian, East and West. They also make him a powerful voice for Updike’s ongoing critique of American civilization.”
“A chilling tale that is perhaps the most essential novel to emerge from Sept. 11.”

Terrorist Attack in Oslo: Ninth floor of my office
On Friday a terrorist detonated a bomb in the quarter my office is. As of now seven people are reported dead from the explosion. Afterwards the terrorist went to a nearby island where the youth organisation of the Norwegian Labour Party had a summer camp. There he shot and killed at least 86 people. Several more were wounded.
Miracolously nobody got hurt in my building, there was only damage to the building.
This is from the ninth floor. The bomb was placed in a car, but even up here parts of my building's glass facade was destroyed.
I created a whole bunch of terrorists using .:Denal:.'s decals that I customized. I designed them to be the adversary to my upcoming Spec Ops Airborne Recon.
Here's all of 'em lined up for ya.

Al-Qaeda doesn’t care about ?Hope” and ?Change”
The threat of terrorism in America, the Obama administration assures us, is contained and controlled. Recent attempted attacks like the Times Square bombing, the ?underwear bombing” on a flight over Detroit, and the attack on a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Oregon were all isolated plots that failed anyway. In the words of Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano, ?The system worked.”
Don’t believe it. In The Terrorist Next Door, investigative reporter Erick Stakelbeck exposes the staggering truth about our national security: the Obama administration is concealing and whitewashing the enormous terrorist threat growing right here within America’s borders.
If you believe terrorism is only a problem for other countries, Stakelbeck’s on-the-ground reporting will open your eyes. He has been inside America’s radical mosques, visited U.S.-based Islamic enclaves, and learned about our enemies by going straight to the source?interviewing al-Qaeda-linked terrorists themselves. In this shocking book, Stakelbeck reveals:
How Islamic radicals have established separatist compounds and even jihadist training camps throughout rural America
That an overt disciple of Iran's Ayatollah Khomeini now leads one of the largest mosques in America
How mega-mosques aren't just planned for Ground Zero?they're being built in the heart of the Bible Belt as part of a plan for Islamic domination
What a former U.S. covert agent inside the Iranian regime says about Iran’s program to recruit Americans into terror groups
How the Obama administration’s beguiling counter-terrorism policies are increasing the threat of another 9/11
The Terrorist Next Door sounds the alarm on a growing threat to every American?one that the U.S. government refuses to face honestly or even to name. As we struggle against a relentless and adaptable Islamist enemy that is committed to destroying our nation, we can’t say we weren’t warned.
